Hi, this is Karen from RMIT - it is good to see the WEBLOG is already being used for talking amongst yourselves. In terms of your project ideas- when you get to the point of being ready to post something then post it as a comment on this posting. It need not be too detailed - around say 100-150 words. Let us know what you would like to research - possibly presented as a research question you'd like to answer or an issue you'd like to explore and how you would like to do your reserach work - identify a method or research tool or tools that you would like to use as part fo the project, for example guided tours, photography, video interviews etc... Once we have this information we will then be able to give you some advice on resources and some tricks of the trade!! You can continue to post thoughts on any of the forums on this WEBLOG and if you want to start a new posting around a particular topic (remember your resear ch project might incorporate the use of the WEBLOG) just let me know and I will put one up for you. Nice to meet you all over the past few days - and keep in touch.

To Karen,
I am thinking of doing the research project on redesigning and creating skateparks in casterton and hamilton. I am going to work with Adam mcmahon and jimmy munro. I will be using techniques such as interveiwing, photography and survaying.
Our group is all set to go to the hamilton and discrict skateparks to gather our information and evidence.

Our town Should get an arcade because it will get kids out of the house and down town;and there will be less graffiti on the streets; tenagers 18+ will be able to get a job there eitherat the prize stand, cleaner or a person who takes care of the bames

Hamilton Skatepark
Group members:Michael Lonsdale
Jarrad Dickson
Jean-claude Boulos
Thomas Warburton
Backroung Info
We think that the Hamilton Skatepark is no good! It's small, ghetto and restricts kids from learning because of the lack of stuff to do there.
If you look around in local areas they all have descent parks like Coleraine, Heywood and Warnamboolas examples.
If this idea isn't thought about soon kids will just start skating the streets.
Plus being dangerous it's bcoming a hang out place for people who smoke and drink.
Methology
Video Interviews
Behaviour Mapping
Photos
Key Questions
*What we want to find out like if they think its is bad, small or just boring
*We want to find out if a new skatepark can be built.

Our topic is more shops in Coleraine shops
We want most of Coleraine’s old shops that have closed to reopen and be better than before. The shops that we want open are: The bakery, The Cobb and Co take-away shop, Clothing shop and the national Bank.
We are going to use video/photo and interviews to get more information on the shops in Coleraine.
The five main questions that we are going to ask are:
1. What would you do to improve the quality and quantity of the shops in Coleraine?
2. Where would you build the shops?
3. How big would you like them to be?
4. What would you like to be put into them?
5. How would you like them to be run?

names:
nicole and madalene
topic:
melville oval netball courts
Methodology:
photos, video and interview
background information:
the courts get extremely slippery and wet and when the sun comes out the trees block them from drying. leaves fall on the courts and make them even more slippery. they have a hill in the middle. they now have padding because it was so easy to run into the sides and hurt your self because they are so close. one side is a stone wall and the other side is a fence. it still hurts to run into them even with padding.
5 key Questions to be answered:
1)What do you dislike most about the melville oval courts?
2)What do you think needs to be done to fix the courts?
3)do you believe they are safe enough to play on?
4)do you think the trees should be cut down?
5)do you think the padding works as well as you expected?

We r investigating the fact that there is not enough shops in town. Hamilton doesnt hav enough shops 2 do wat we want. If we get more shops we get more jobs, and if we get more jobs we get we get a bigger population, and with a bigger population we get more money and so on and so forth. to do this we will make a video interveiws and we shal also use behaviour mapping. We will
ask ppl wat they want, what shops do u like, and wat shops do u want.

Hey,
our topic is internet access.many young regional victorians don't have computers or internet access in their homes or avaiable to them.there also isn't many places where you can go to use it without charge or an adult accompanying you.
methodology-video,interveiws and photos.
what percentage of hamilton area students have access to the internet and have a computer at home?
who supplies internet access after school?
where do they live?
when do most people need the internet?
we think that it would be great if we could get internet access more for people.

hey Karen,
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Hamilton streets are very untidy because people can not be bothered to walk to bins.
METHOLAGY:
We will take photos of the litter and interview people of what they think about the litter.
HOW WE WILL GET THE INFORMATION:
Ask people what ideas they have to improve on the litter and a survey.
PLACES WE WILL GO:
We will go to the Hamilton lake and /or go down the street.
HOW WILL WE REMEMBER THE INFORMATION:
We will have pictures and the interviews to look at.
